Just because there's less airflow in a rack doesn't give your computer the right to overheat. The all-aluminum design turns ION into a giant heat sink, drawing dangerous hot air away from the vital components.

For fast connectivity at any moment, we put high speed FireWire and USB access right on the front of ION. Plug in your external hard drive for fast backup, your alternate audio interface for some new sounds or one of those USB-powered coffee mug warmers to keep the session going all night long.

Go ahead and concentrate on the music. ION will spend its time thinking about the internal ambient temperature to make sure that failure is really not an option. When everything is normal, the large diameter fans spin nice and slow, moving torrents of air without making noise. Kick your session into overdrive and ION will make sure it accounts for the extra heat accordingly.
