Four cores and more. At the heart of ORIGIN is a super power, quad-core processor by Intel. Its all the power you need for high performance and low latency as you add more and more effects.
Industrial strength Quiet Cool. Intelligent cooling and a balanced component architecture combine to reduce data bottlenecks, keep the heat and noise to a minimum and ensure reliable performance.
High speed data transfer. ORIGIN communicates with the rest of your SoundGrid system through gigabit ethernet. High bandwidth data streaming means glitch-free distributive processing you can rely on.
Racked and stacked. ORIGIN is housed in a go-anywhere, 2U rackmount chassis designed to go with you on the road while protecting the valuable contents within. It also makes it easy to add additional ORIGIN processor engines.

Waves SoundGrid
About The Wave SoundGrid System
SoundGrid is an Audio-over-Ethernet networking and processing technology
developed by Waves. SoundGrid provides extremely low latency, high channel-
count Waves audio processing using high performance processors and gigabit Ethernet
networks for live sound and other real-time professional audio applications. Real-
time audio processing is performed on the Rain ORIGIN Processor Engine,
running a Waves-customized real-time version of Linux.
Taking advantage of today's extraordinary CPU power and the memory
capabilities of Native processing, SoundGrid runs on high performance CPUs under a custom
optimized Linux OS, resulting in predictability, stability, and low latency that was
previously exclusive to dedicated DSP-based systems. Consequently, SoundGrid
can run large numbers of Waves plug-ins, as well as extremely CPU-intensive
plug-ins that are beyond the capabilities of DSP-based systems.
